The following meetings will be held! today :—Canterbury College Board of Governors, 3 p.m. ; Limvood Borough Council, 7.30 p.m. ; Richmond! Working Men’s Club, special meeting, 8 p.m. ; Christchurch Swimming Club, annual meeting, Clarendon i Hotel, 8 p.m. ; united fellowship meeting, St Paul’s Church, Cashel Street, 8 p.m. ; Canterbury Cricket Association, Warner’s Hotel, 8 p.m. ' A social gathering to welcome Mr T. E. Taylor on his return from Europe will he held in the Art Gallery this evening. The Rev R. S. Gray will begin bis ministry in Christchurch at the Baptist Church, Oxford Terrace, on Sunday, Oct. 5. A public meeting will be held to welcome him on the following Tuesday. The adjourned annual meeting of ratepayers in the Spreydon Road District will be held on Oct. 2, at 8 p.m. A united fellowship meeting in connection with the Torrey-Alexander mission will be held in St Paul’s Presbyterian Church |On Monday evening at eight o’clock. Mr W. H. George, of Wellington, will be among the speakers. Mrs Margaret L. Shepherd will lecture in the Oddfellows’ Hall, Lichfield Street, on Thursday and Friday next.
