Further heavy rain has fallen in the coastal districts, and there have been some useful falls in the Darling country, but the rain is patchy. The Federal Premier is arranging to ob-serve-Sept. 7 as a day of national thanksgiving for the rain. STOCK SALES. (Received Sept. 1, 10.36 5p.m.) SYDNEY, Sept. 1. The stock sales included about 3000 New Zealand animals-. Cross-breds ranged from 24s to 355. A pen of 15, entered by Mr. Coates, and extra prime, brought 50s. The balance of Mr Coates's consignment realised 34s to 42s 6d. New Zealand bullocks ranged to £2B, cows to £lB 10s, averaging £lB. [Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND, Sept. 1. The Elingamite's cargo for Sydney includes 3940 sacks of maize, 500 cases of kauri gum, 120 boxes of butter, 32 build and 300 sheep.
