Myall put-up the record of the morning, covering seven furlongs in lmin 403ec. Abingfon took a second longer, and Kinglock lmin i2|seo. ADELAIDE, Sept. 1. The race for the Derby resulted as follows: Rienzi 1, Sojourner and Crosskcys dead heat for second place. Six horses started. The placed horses got together shortly after entering the straight and fought out a splendid finish. Rienzi won by half a head. Time—2min 42isec. Dividend—£4. "Douglas, for his Temahar.ga, stud. Tho price paid is Cat) guineas. Mr J. Henrys has been appointed handicapper for the Napier Park Racing Club. Redoubt appeared' in error as an acceptor for the Timaru Hurdle Race on the. first day of tho South Canterbury meeting.
