THE ACTION OF CANADA. United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received August 6, 12.19 a.m.) OTTAWA, August 5. Canada, anxious for the consummation of a great Imperial project, has waived the objection raised by her in connection with- the Pacific Cable, although still contending that the privileges granted by New South Wales to the Eastern, Extension Company are inimical to the future prospects of the Pacific scheme. She promulgates the Act passed last session dealing with the cable, and announces her readiness to pay fiveeighteenths of the cost.
