The “ Daily News,” referring to the previous day’s proceedings, says the front Opposition bench was empty, and the Party, deserted and enfeebled, has reached the last stage of its humiliation. In tho House of Commons, a motion tabled by Mr Hobhouse, the member for East Bristol, for the reduction of Mr Chamberlain’s salary, and withdrawn by the mover, was put at the instance of Air J. Dillon, and negatived by 154 votes against 70; .
