A CHARGE OF MANSLAUGHTER, [Per Press Association.] INVERCARGILL, July 18.

The jury found that the death of Mrs Sneyd was caused: by a signal rocket fired by Captain M'Gilvray, and also expressedthe opinion that the City Council and the police showed neglect in not enforcing their powers. Captain M’Gilvray was charged with manslaughter to-day and remanded for a week on bail of two sureties of £IOO each, which were forthcoming.
