DIX’S GAIETY COMPANY.
The Gaiety Theatre last night was crowded to the doors, the Auctioneers’ and Dealers’ Sports Club monopolising the dress circle, on the occasion, of their annual “social.” In addition to looking on and providing incidental music, pier medium of the kazoo aud mouth organ, a portion of the programme was contributed by friends of the club, Messrs 0. Head, Millar, B. S. Collier and Barry contributing chorus songs at intervals, some of which the pit allowed to be heard, but others of which they promptly drowned. So far as the professional members of the company are concerned their reception was most cordial, and triple encores were the order of the evening. The Gallardi Sisters, Wallace King, and Johnston, Riano and! Bentley were especially well received. The handsome cake presented by the club was the subject of an interesting competition, and, so far as the audience could gather, the Gallardi Sisters tied for the honour of its possession.
