CADET CORPS.
An adjounied meeting of those interested; in forming a cadet corps at New Brighton was held in the Sehoolhouse • on Saturday evening.' Mr A. \V. Owles occupied the chair, and reported that the necessary information! had been obtained from the Defence Department, l-egarding uniforms, arms, and capitation. The uniform recommended was a navy blue, jersey, with, stockings and knickers to match, a field cap, n. brovyn leather belt with a pouch, and sidearms. The rifle would be furnished later. The probable cost,of the uniform to each member would be 10s, and he suggested that that amount should be handed in, by e«ch member of the corps when being sworn in. Mr Victor Cui-tis, an old pupil of the New Brighton School, was elected captaiiv The Chairman «,sked that all lads who were desirous of joining should send in their names at once to the headmaster, Mr G. W. Bishop.
