ODDFELLOWS' CONFERENCE.

The Manchester Unity Oddfellows’ Conference opened this morning. Mr John Smith, Wellington, was chosen president, and Mr M’Leod, of Auckland, secretary. The business of the conference was to consider a motion moved by Mr M’Leod in favour of electing a moveable committee and board of directors. Tna motion was adopted.

The Conference resolved that the first meeting of the biennial movable committee should! bo held at Wellington, on April 17, and a provisional committee of five was set v.p to draft rules for submission to the meeting; the representation for each district at the first meeting of the committee to be one delegate for five hundred .members, and one delegate for every additional five hundred. _____
