MARKET REPORTS.

GRAIN AND PRODUCE. Business in the local grain and produce markets during the past few days has been almost at a standstill, owing 'to the holidays, and had scarcely been resumed yesterday, when a little grain was offering, but farmers were so> firm in their demands for prices which merchants and speculators refuse to give that no business resulted. Owing to the heavy passenger traffic on the railways it has been impossible to get tracks to bring grain down from the country stations to ship’s side. The steamer traffic has also been, disorganised, and as there is no boat to Sydney until Saturday, and no cargo' has been carried during the holidays, there has not been much demand for potatoes. However, holders are very firm in their demands, and 1 from £3 15s to £4- .per ton has been refused for delivery next week, but buyers decline to give more. The following are quotations;— "Wneat.—Prims milling nominal, Tuscan 2a 5d to 2s &d, Pearl 2s Sd, Hunter’s 2s 4d to 2a 4id, whole fowl-wheat 2a to 2s Id f.o.b. Oats.—Canadians Is Od to Is Bd, abort feed la 6fd to la 6£d, Buna and Danish Is 6d to Is 7d. Barley..—Prime malting 2a 4d to: 2s 6d, medium 2a to 2s 2d deliverad. Flour.—Millers quote roller £6 10s, sharps £3 15s, bran £3 be. Oaisheaf Chaff.—B7s Od at country stations. Oatmeal.—£lo.. Beans;—2s 6d. Peas.—Blue Prussian 3a to 3# 3d, Partridge 2s 10d to 3a f.o.b. , Onions.—£B 10s at country stations. Potatoes.—Dcrwents 75s to 80s. In consequence of the Royal visit festivities, the attendance at the Rangiora marbet yesterday was small, and the entry was also much smaller than usual. The yarding, comprised 1200 sheep, 50 cattle
