THE SABBATH.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —In Wednesday’s issue there appeared a - paragraph emanating from - the Christchurch Central Mission,” wherever that may bo located, or whatever its, attributes,- complaining of the: desecration of the Sabbath" by the volunteers, in consequence of their having to attend at the call of duty. Also, the Mission has forwarded resolutions to the Premier, to cause such godless actions to cease: Certainly, there is no limit”to delusions, and I should like to know why the said enthusiasts cannot be content with their own absurdities, without interfering with the action of others. If the. Central Mission, the members of which, X suppose, consider themselves entitled to‘a species of spiritual dogmatism, desire to teach or enlighten those who may happen to entertain different opinions, by all means let them do so, and add to their labours, night and day, week day and Sunday amongst those who are led by such simplicity. lam quite sure the volunteers would never .think of interfering with such, proceedings. There-' fore, when wo find such zealots interfering with other people’s actions, it is time a curb were applied to such infatuation. Let the Central Mission mind their own business, and let other bodies act as they think proper so long as they don’t interfere with the action of others.—l am, etc., H. 0.
