PRESENTATIONS TO THE REV H. T. PURCHAS.

On Wednesday afternoon, the children, who have been ' attending the day school Scripture Class conducted by the Rev H. T. Purchas, at the Harewood Road Schoolroom, Papanui, presented their teacher with a travelling rug. One of the elder girls read a short address, and two little girls (Ida I Dursy and Mabel M'Donald) made the presentation. j On Friday afternoon, a gathering of thc r ; residents was held in the District School- i room, Harewood Road, for the purpose of saying farewell to Mr Purchas. Campbell presided, and during an inter- j val in the musical programme, which occupied part of the evening, Mr Nun week, one of the oldest residents, presented Mr Purchas with a purse of 27 sovereigns.
