CHRISTCHURCH. Wednesday, Jan. 16. (Before Mr W. H. Cooper, J.P., and; Mr W. Wood, J.P.) Drunkenness.—A first offender was fined ss, with the alternative of twenty-four hours' imprisonment. Indecency.—James Smith pleaded not guilty to a charge of indecent exposure. Evidence was given by a little girl before whom the offence was committed, and by Constable Elliott. The accused was sentenced to three months' imprisonment with hard labour. By-law Cases.—For riding a bicycle on the public footpath at. Riccarton, Elsie Fuller was fined 10s a.jid costs.—Charles Thomas was fined a like amount for a similar offence. —Thomas Guy was fined 10s and costs for riding a bicycle after dark without a, la<mp.—John Frederick Reece was fined 10s and costs for riding without a lamp after dark.—George Saundera was fined 5s and costs for driving a vehicle after dark without. lights. ■ Unregistered Dog.—Alice Kavamagh was fined 10s without costs for keeping an unregistered dog. LYTTELTON. Wednesday, Jan. 16. (Before Mr H. W. Bishop, S.M.) Drunkenness. —A first offender, and a man who had not been before the Court for a long time, were each fined ss, with twenty-four hours' imprisonment in default.
