THE BRITISH BUDGET.

THE WINE DUTIES. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, April 22. Sir Michael Hicks-Beach- will receive a deputation of the Agents-General on the subject of the colonial wine duties next Tuesday. In the House of Commons, Sir M. Hicks-' Beach said that the exemption of colonial wines would involve, on present consump-i tion, a loss of £20,000 yearly. He feared that the preferential treatment of colonial wines would result in foreign wines being shipped to the colonies and re-exported to Great Britain, thus largely increasing the loss.
