CHRISTCHURCH. Wednesday, April 19. (Before Mr A. Ayers. J.P., and Mr W. C. Fendall, J.P.) Drunkenness. —Two male first offenders, who did not surrender to their bail, were each fined 10s and costs, in default fortyeight hours' imprisonment. —A male first offender was'fined 6s-and costs, in defatdt fortv-eighb hours’ imprisonment. —Another male first offender was. charged, on remand, with being’dmuk and disorderly in Brougham Street, Sydenham. Mr Swann appeared for the accused. Sergeant Burke and Constable Andrews gave evidence relative to the offence, and Mr Swann called two female witnesses, who denied that the accused was in liquor. The Bench inflicted a fine of 5s and costs, in default twenty-four hours’ imprisonment. Breaches of the Bv-laws.—Matthew Templeton, William Lake and W. Wilmot, who pleaded guilty to riding their bicycles on a footpath, were each fined 10s and costs. - ■ - Prohibition Order.—On the application of his brother a prohibition order was issued iagaiinst a man. to take effect, in the Christchurch and surrounding districts for one year.—-On the application of his daughter, a prohibition order was granted against a man. to take effect in the Christchurch and surrounding districts for one vear .—Another order was issued against a mail, on the application of his brother, to take effect- in the Christchurch, surrounding and Ellesmere districts.
