DUNEDIN JOCKEY CLUBDUNEDIN, Noy. 29. ' The Colonial Secretary has definitely refused to grant the Dunedin Jockey Club a permit for racing on Boxing Day, owing to the meeting clashing with tho Palmerston Club’s fixture. The committee of tho club met this evening, and decided to hold the summer meeting on Dec. 27 and 23. The programme for the Christchurch Racing Club’s annual meeting is advertised in this issue. Nominations will close on Friday night. The well-known stallion Perkin Warbeck 11., by Perkin Warded: out of Miss Kate, dropped dead at the farm of his ownin', Mr E. Gates, Tmwald, yesterday morning. Nominal ions for the Greymouth Trotting Club's Summer Heating must be made to dav.
Nominations for tho summer meeting of the Westport Trotting Club close to-day. The racehorses Liberator,, Epaulet and Rochester were landed at Lyttelton yesterday from the steamer Rotomahana.
The programme of the Ashburton County Racing Club's Summer Meeting, to' be hol'd at Tinwald racecourse on Jan. 2 and 5, has been approved by the committee of the Canterbury Jockey" Club. The Feiiding Jockey Club's Spring Meeting will begin to-day.
