HOCKEY ASSOCIATION.

A meeting of the Canterbury Hockey Association was held at the City Hotel at eight o’clock yesterday evening. The Rev J. Blackburne presided, and the various clubs were represented as under: —Christchurch, Messrs Withers, Pavitt, Vincent and Kinvjg; Drapers, Mr Irwin; Y.M.C.A., Mr Roxburgh; Grocers, Messrs Wilson and Samuda; Tinwald, Rev J. Blackburne; Post and Telegraph, Mr Mansell. The draft rules of the Association were adopted, with amendments. A navy blue and white shirt and cap with black knickers and stockings weie adopted as the colours of the Association. The following officers were elected : President, Rev J. Blackburne; vice-presi-dents, Rev H. H. Mathias and Mr Lowe ; honorary secretary and treasurer, Mr E. H. Pavitt ; auditor, Mr W. Roxburgh. Messrs Pavitt and Wilson were appointed a subcommittee to arrange and supervise the drawing for the first series of matches between teams entered. It was resolved to play the first matches on April 28 and 30 respectively. The following entries were received : Thursday competitions Drapers two teams, Grocers two teams, Post and Telegraph one team. Saturday competitions —Christchurch two teams, Kaiapoi two teams, Y.M.C.A. one team. The “Lyttelton Times ” and “ Canterbury Times ” were appointed the official organs of the Association, and the meeting terminated.
