FOOTBALL.
The Merivale Club held a practice game on Saturday on the North Park, when about forty-five members were playing. Good form was shown all round, several members playing very well. The grounds were extremely hard. The members of the Kaiapoi Club held a practice match in the Park on Saturday afternoon. There was a good muster, and as the teams to be chosen to play in the first matches on Saturday next were to be decided on the form displayed in this trial, each player naturally exerted himself to the utmost. The ground was extremely hard, but good form Was shown, especially by some of the new men and juniors. ■ FPer Press A ssociation.] ' DUNEDIN, April 17. At ;a meeting of the Otago Rugby_Union it was resolved to request the Committee of Management to make application to the New Zealand Union to now remove the disqualification of Harris, a member of the New Zealand team that toured New South Wales. Mr J. M. Gallaway was re-elected president and Mr J. Hutchison secretary. Mr Gallaway was nominated as the Union's vice-president of the New Zealand Union.
