SCHOOL COMMITTEES.

The Ashburton School Committee met on Wednesday ; present Messrs M’Pherson (chairman), Steele, Meddins, Chapman, Phaup, Silcock, Rule and Craighead. The Chairman stated the credit balance to be £46 11s lOd. Mr Phaup moved that, subject to the Board upholding Mr Silcock’s appeal, the appointments of Misses Meddins and Stanley as pupil teachers should be confirmed. This was seconded by Mr Steele and carried. The draft report was submitted to the meeting and approved. Messrs Craighead and Rule were appointed a Visiting Committee until the annual meeting. Accounts amounting to £3 4s 6d were passed for payment.
