[Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND, April 15, The-completed gold return for the past month is stated at £42,096.

Mr M’Gregor, the mine manager for the Chicago Gold-mining Company, has telegraphed to the local office as follows ; “‘The general assay of stone just completed at the Thames School of Mines, taken from the Big Beef, three, faces of the Battery Keef and No. 1 and 2 Eeef in the Scottish Chief main level, shows the highly satisfactory average of 10s per; ton. The battery will be completed, and crushing will commence in six weeks’ from date.”
