The Maine report will be issued on Monday. A decided revival of the war scare has taken place in Washington. Mr Hall, the chairman of the Senate’* Naval Committee, stated that waff was inevitable.
An impression prevails that President M’Kinley will be compelled to intervene decisively, in order to relieve the terrible sufferings of tha noncombatants in Cuba. The House of Representatives lias authorised the construction of three battle-ships, six torpedo-destroyers, six torpedo boats and five dry docks.
