The following report of the Mount Lyell Mining and Eailway Company for the week ending March 2, has been telegraphed from Dunedin by our special correspondent Smelting plant No. I—Whole plant temporarily stopped to clean out accumulation cf flue dust in the flues, but five furnaces are again in operation. Prolongation of main brick flue for No. 6 furnace—Nearing completion. Smelting plant No. 2—Excavation for building, &c., proceeding. Platelaying for inclined haulage line for materials —Finished. Erecting steam winch and mortar mill on site of excavation for main chimney Progressing. Clearing ground for hill flue, converter plant, extension of storage, and loading platform—ln hand. No. 3 boiler—Connected up. Five thousand four hundred and eighty-nine tons of blister copper consigned to date, being 2224 tons for the current half-year.
