SCHOOL COMMITTEES.

. The monthly meeting of the West Christchurch School Committee was held on Wednesday evening; present —Messrs W. M’Clea (Chairman), G. T. Chisnall, G. Watson, J. Parks and W. J. Watson. Apologies were received from Dr Moorhouse and Mr Morris. Tho resignation of Miss Christina Kirk, who bad obtained an appoffitment at the High School, Napier, was accepted with regret at losing her services, and the committee agreed to congratulate her upon her advancement in the teaching profession. It was decided to consider the question of filling the vacancy at a special meeting on Monday evening next; to take the same holidays as for the last year or two, viz., tho Easter week and a week after the examination ; and to ask the Board to renew the fence and gates in tho front, put new concrete steps to the doors and provide a drinking place for the infant children.
