CYCLING.
TO THE EDITOR
Sib, —Not many cyclists will * find fault with the Mayor’s temperate remarks with
regard to • regulating the bicycle traffic; but Councillor Samuels would have • the non-riding public to understand that the bicycle is to be looked upon as a sort of “ traction engine,” and as if there were no other accidents any other way. The bicycle has come to stay, as everyone knows, and it is not a very hard matter to make an’ example of the few careless riders or “ scorchers,” without bringing before the public all the slight accidents' which often arise through people loitering about the roads and standin cr at corners. It has not gone so far as to°bo termed the “bicycle nuisance,” any more than the pram nuisance, street preaching nuisance, and many others which the City Council would do well to see to. As'an old cyclist, I have never seen nor heard of such an accident as Councillor Samuels experienced.—l am, Ac., -CYCLIST,
