AUCKLAND RACING CLUB. [Per Press Association.! AUCKLAND, June 7. The weather was fine. for the second day’s racing of the Auckland Racing Club’s Grand National Meeting to-day, and the attendance considerably over 3000. The racing was of an interesting character throughout, and there were no serious accidents, the only mishaps being to Waldron, the rider of Daisy Bell in the Pony Handicap Hurdle Race, who was thrown, and received slight concussion of the brain, and D. Morrigan, rider of Bombardier in the Tally-ho Steeplechase, whose mount slipped and rolled over him, injuring his collar-bone. The amount passed through the totalisator was .£7248, which, added to the sum handled on the first day, constitutes a total of .£12,840 for the meeting, or ,£IOB7 more than was operated on at the corresponding gathering last year. Glauvena increased her advantage to very nearly two lengths as they ran out of the straight, but once fairly in the back stretch Lady Agues got on terms with Glauvena, and was a trifle to the good as they ran into the cutting. Here Bob and Napoleon closed up, and as they landed in the straight Recruit was half a length in. front of Bob, and a capital struggle from the last fence resulted in Recruit winning by a neck from Bob, with Libeller close up third. The Friar was quickest away, but was replaced by Rhino when the first obstacle was reached, and with Mozel and St Simon following and The Friar next, they ran up the hill and over the post and rails for the first time. Coming down the hill to the sod wall Rhino had increased his lead to something like thirty lengths from Mozel, after whom came Tally-ho, The Friar and Miss Nelson, with Levanter next. Rhino held his advantage round the back and down to the double in front of the stand for the second time, but was joined by Tally-ho as they ran through the old water jump, where Miss Nelson moved up to third position, with St Simon and Levanter following in the order named. Tally-ho and Rhino ran down the back stretch together, and the former was a length in front as they ascended the hil the last time. Rhino fell at the post and rails, leaving Tally-ho in cpmmand, followed closely by Levanter, Kingswood and Miss Nelson. Coming down the hill Levanter closed up, and drawing out in the straight, won easily by five lengths from Tally-ho, with Miss Nelson ten lengths away third, Dromedary,, some distance away, fourth, while St Simon and the others walked in, and Ditto and Mozel fell. Flukem, Kingswood and Mozel led alternately to the hill for the first time, when Rhino went to the front, and was half a dozen lengths in front at the post and rails. Rhino was still in command as they raced over the sod wall to the water jump, with Bombardier and Tally-ho together a couple of lengths away. . Rhino refused at the water, and Perform took command a length in front of Tally-ho, and then came Bombardier, with Kingswood last. Perform was a couple of lengths in advance at the back, with Tally-ho and Bombardier together next, but as they ascended the hill Tallyho closed up. Perform, however, jumping excellently, drew away again at the post and rails, where Bombardier blundered and fell back, and Perform came down the hill half a. dozen lengths in front of Tally-ho. Perform jumping the stone wall in fine style, went on, and clearing the obstacle in the straight six lengths to the good, won very easily from Tally-ho, with Sam third and Mozel fourth.
