BOROUGH COUNCIL.

. LIN WOOD. The adjourned monthly meeting of the Linwood Borough Council was held last evening; present Councillors Marshall (in the chair), Ayers, Taylor, Jameson, Horsley, Board, Pearce, Brunt and Atkinson. A formal- resolution was carried to levy , rates for the current. year. The financial statement was adopted. It was decided that the report and balance-sheet should be published. The report for the year ending March 31 showed that the borough was in much better circumstances than it had been at the end of the previous year. The receipts for the year amounted to £2670 16s Bd, expenditure £2968 4s Bd, liabilities £297 8s; balance in hand £25 17s Id. After some routine business had been dealt with the meeting terminated.
