MELBOURNE, Maech 5,
Rich gold has been struck at the Highland Chief mine, Freoburgh. Twenty-five pounds of stone gave two pounds of gold. The reef is large and well defined. Other prospectors are obtaining large returns.
AUCKLAND, Maech 5. The following business was done on the share market to-day:— Sales. Sellers. Buyers.
The return from the Clyde Dredging Company for the week ending March 5 was 1330 z I7dwts 12grs of gold, of the value of £515 Vs 6d. The dredging time was 126 hours.
