An interesting discovery in connection with the Roentgen rays has been made by Mr Filmer, electrical engineer in the railway department. Hitherto the radiographs produced showed foreign substances in bodies, but failed to demonstrate the depth at which they were embedded. Mr Filmer shot a bird, took radiographs from two different angles, developed them in the usual way, and placed them in an ordinary stereoscope. He obtained a clear and well-defined stereoscopic view, giving an excellent perspective, enabling him to locate to a nicety the fatal pellet. The whole internal arrangement of the bird was clearly defined. The discovery will to a great extent obviate the probing of wounds now necessary. WILFUL MURDER. MELBOURNE, Jan. 29.
