SYDENHAM BOROUGH.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —I write to ventilate a grievance which we, as residents and ratepayers of Drummond Street, Sydenham, have for a long time borne. About eighteen months ago a deputation of the above waited on the Council, asking that a concrete channel might he put down to relievo our sections of storm water, and although wo were promised the matter should bo seen to, nothing whatever has been done. 'Urn little ditch that was nicked out at first to act as a drain is now filled with grass and weeds, and many a long day is it since we saw a Council employe doing any work in the said street. One would think the present dry weather would he an opportune
time to do what little concreting there is required, and so meet the needs of people who have been paying rates for a long period (some of them I should say nearly twenty years), or must we wait until one of our residents gets elected to a scat on the. Sydenham Borough Council before our wants are attended to ?—I am, &c., RATEPAYER.
