SWIMMING.
MEETING JdF DELEGATES. A meeting of club delegates was held at the Clarendon Hotel last night, Mr G, Smart presiding. The question of obtaining a banner for relay racing was brought up and referred to the clubs for consideration. Correspondence was read by the Chairman dealing with the removal of the headquarters of the Association, a resolution having been unanimously passed at tbe meeting in Auckland to transfer them to Christchurch. Mr Smart was elected honorary secretary and treasurer pro tem, and Messrs Carr (Railway), Milne (Richmond) and Stratton (Rakaia) as an executive to make arrangements for holding the adjourned annual meeting in Christchurch in a month’s time. Several other matters were discussed. CHRISTCHURCH AMATEUR SWIMMING CLUB. The final heat of the 75yds Handicap was decided yesterday afternoon. The following started: —G. J. C. Smart 9sec, C. Sims 18see, T. Harter 19sec and A. Schwartz 22sec. A splendid race resulted in Barker winning by two yards from Smart, who just caught the limit man in the last few yards, a dead heat almost resulting. The next race is a 100yds Handicap.
