RIFLE SHOOTING.
KAIAPOI RIFLES v. N BATTERY. On Saturday afternoon a rifle match was fired at Lyttelton between teams representing the Kaiapoi Rifles and the N Battery of Artillery. The weather was rather cold, and an unsteady south-west wind waa blowing across the range. At the 500yds range it became bo flukey that several well-known shots experienced the greatest difficulty in keeping on the target. The visitors were victorious by 34 points. The annual return match between the Canterbury Engineers nnd tho Lyttelton Navals was fired at Bromley on Saturday afternoon, and resulted in a win for tho Engineers by 37 points.
