ST JOHN AMBULANCE ASSOCIATION.

The examinations of the men’s first aid and women’s medallion classes took place on Wednesday and Thursday nights. In the men’s first aid class, instructed by Dr Murdoch, the following passed Constable Abbot (Sydenham), Detective Benjamin, Constable Cullen, Constable Hobson, Sergeant-Major Mason, Mounted Constable Shepherd, Messrs C. Steven and J. Wathew. Re-examined:—Messrs J. Connail, H. Kennedy, J. Poulton and GStening for medallion, and Mr S. Marriner for second certificate. Tho examiner. Dr J. H. Deamer, reports as follows“ All the re-examination candidates obtained full marks. The first aid candidates showed a good knowledge of their work, many of them being much, better in their oral and practical work than in the written.” In the women’s medallion class, instructed by Dr Devenieh-Meares, only five candidates presented themselves, all of whom passed. Their names are as follow:—Mi,;s B. Baird, Sira Dougal. Miss M. Mills, Mrs Thomson and Mies M. Thomson. Dc Stewart reports ,f To pass, 70 per cent of marks had to be obtained; Nos. 3 and 1 got 95 per cent, and' No. 280 per cent. Those that obtained less than 80 per cent fell short in the oral examination. All did the practical part very well.” Candidates can obtain their marks from the Secretary. All obtained high marks, passing well.
