PAPANUI ROAD.

TO THE EDXTOB. Sik, —At this time of the year a smell of the much-taiked-ot watering-cart between Norman's lane and Papanui would be much appreciated by the residents who have to live in this somewhat neglected district. One resident has taken it upon himself to have the road watered in front of his own house. Goodness only knows, we are heavily taxed—too much for that distance out of town—and all I have seen is one man working for the Eoad Board, and the watering-cart occasionally to be seen as far as Kay’s road only. Trusting something will be done to keep down the dust in summer, and clear away the mud during the winter, —I am, &c., • RATEPAYER.
