WORK IN FORT.
TO the editor.
Sie, —Whilst endorsing every -word written by “ Another Wharf Labourer,” I hope ho will go on and let the public know a little more of the dark doings of those parties in ouc midst, to whose interest it is to keep the present state of affairs in existence, and who have represented to the heads of the various Shipping Companies that if their services were dispensed with there would he aft trike at once in Port. I believe some of them will very soon find their occupation, gone, and then I ho~e they will be sentenced to work for their living like better men. I wonder if the Directors of the Canterbury Stevedoring AsscciationccouhS be induced, just in the interests of fair play, to let us know when our dividend is payable. They promised that all moneys over 6 per cent and official expenses, would be divided amongst the workmen as bonuses. "We have not even seen a copy of their balance-shdat, although it \taa promised by one of their officers.— I am, ic.y A WHASP EAT.
