Parker, the local Secretary, said that if the candidates increased in proportion it was the intention of the College to send out to the Colony an . experienced examiner every yearto- exatnina candidates in practical work. a\ioh as pianoforte playing, &c. The faet that the examinations were becoming mora.difficult accounted for the large proportion, of ‘failures, and pointed to the nooowity for more thorough work. The Catholic schools of the Colony had idona v particularly well this year, the •candidates''sent by the school at Greyrnouth,&b Mary’s Convent schools, Wellington, and St'Patrick’s College having •Btgtoed tho'highoat percentage of marks.
