DENOMINATIONAL EDUCATION.
TO THE EDITOR.
Sir, —I was surprised at Bishop Grimes’ address oa the Catholic claims, but unfortunately I am late in giving my views. I believe in people and their pastors taking counsel with a view to the selection of candidates, but ia it not right to expect that they will choose men worthy to represent them, whose personal character can bear the strictest investigation, and whose political consistency can be depended on ? Had the Bishop, on the occasion of a visit lately to one of his parishes, given the same dictatorial commands on behalf of one who was really worthy, and not allowed himself to be led away by cowards, traitors aud cravens, it would Lave been much to bis credit and saved a great deal of malice, hatred asd uncharitablenesa.—l am, &c., X.Y.Z,
