Five more informations have been laid against persons taking part in the demonstration against Mr Carter, draper, on Wednesday. All the charges will be laid under the Police Offences Act instead of in the more serious form of unlawful assembly. The quarterly meeting of the Tailors’ Union was held in the rooms of the Young Men’s Christ'an Association on Tuesday, Mr J. Moore (Vice-President) in the chair. There was a good attendance of members. The balance-sheet and Auditors’ report were received and adopted, Tbe finances of the Union were considered satisfactory. The Secretary stated that no reply bad been received from the Master Tailors and Cutters’ Association to his communication of Sept. 8 regarding trade irregular itiee, viz., of men working in shops as journeymen and as masteis employing labour at the same time.
