Ho to the present nearly £I3OO, including the Has-t-nga lists, have been subscribed to the Flood Belief Fund, amongst the donations the largest amoents are those of Messrs &. D. M.’Lesa, J. H. Smith, and H. S. Tiff cm, £IOO each. The Executive Committee proceeded to Clive and Meaneo to-day, and got an estimate cf the individual losses of settlers. A very heavy elip has fallen in Wanstead Gorge. It will block the road for a fortnight, and the mails will be packed from Waiputurau. The road to Taupe is not damaged, and tourists will puffer no inconvenience. Coaches now take through passengers from Hastings to Waipukuran, connecting there with Wellington. Passenger traffic to Waiparoa by railway will not be resumed before Monday.
