Cleveland, Hill, and (Governor Boles, of lowa, were the candidates proposed at the Democratic Convention. Major M‘Kinley asserts that the Republicans have a right to be cheerful, and declares that Lord Salisbury’s fiscal speeches show that he has become a convert to Protection, OTTAWA, June 23. Canada derides President Harrison’s threat to retaliate on the election move.
