[PEOM OtTB OWN COEEESFONDENT.) ' Handicapper, Mr G. Dowse; Starter, Mr R. B. M’Donald. . ■ The Autumn Meeting of the Geraldimr Racing Club was held at Orarx yesterday. The weather was very fine and the attendance was, considering the season of. the year, fairly good. The management was' very satisfactory, and Messrs Mason cad: Roberts passed through fchetotaliaator during the afternoon. The racing com-' menced with the Orari Handicap, for ' which ten horses went to the post, who was in capital form, was made a hot favourite, and fully justified the confidence of his friends by winning easily. The Trot fell to Mr Jackson’s useful mare Factory Girl, who maintained a good gait throughout, and won with plenty to spare. The principal race of the day, the Autumn Handicap, then came on for decision, but only three competitors went to- the post. Masonic, the outsider of the trio, made: the running during the early part-of the journey; but when it came to racing he fell back beaten, and a good struggle between Young Cheviot and Lady Zetland resulted in a half-length victory for. the mare. The Jewel and Loiter fought out a. great finish in the Disposal Stabds.but the former lasted longer than her veteran opponent, and got home by a bare head. The winner was bought in for £l9, leaving a nice balance of £l2 to the funds of the Club. A protest against The Jewel, on the ground that her jockey had left the scutes before being declared weight, was dismissed. A nice field of eight went to the post for the Welter Handicap, which £roduced a splendid race between Sebastopol and Beau Nash, the former winning by three-parts of a length, and paying the handsome dividend of .£137 3s. The owner of the horse was, very properly, the lucky individual who pton fited by the success of the winner. Eire King took the Selling Hack Race, e»d was bought in by his owner for £4O 10e» a transaction which benefited the Club to the extent of £3O 10s. The Squatters* Handicap was appropriated by Ooupt d’Orsay, and brought an enjoyable day’s sport to a close.
