BICYCLE RIDING.
TO THE EDITOR. Sib,—Having to go a long distance to my work I find it convenient and economical to ride a bicycle. At times there ate hoodlums about who think it fun to annoy me. At other times drivers of vehicles drive unpleasantly close to me, knowing that I cannot hurt them, when if, to escape the vehicles, I ride a short distance on the footpath, I (get bullied by a policeman. I think that this is too bad, and would he very thankful to you if you would inform me through your columns whether it is lawful to ride on the footpath where there are no people on it, or if £ do not inconvenience the pedestrians who happen to be using the path at the same time as myself ? Of course I would not think of riding where there is much traffic; it is mainly the outskirts of the town I wish to refer to.— l am, &c., A GIRL. [Bicycles must not he ridden on the footpaths.— Ed.
