THE RIVER.
TO TEE EDITOR. Sib,—Will you permit me to draw your attention to the present accumulation of weeds and growth in the river between Colombo and Manchester bridges. I am credibly informed that there is an existing contract for the cleansing of the river, including these points. If so it should be enforced. lam surprised that the disciples of Izaak Walton and the boating men have not ere this made themselves heard on this subject.—l am, Ac., MICHAEL HART.
