THE MANGAWHARE TRAGEDY
[Pee Peebs Association.] AUCKLAND, August 4, A service iu memory of the late Constable M'Leod, the victim of the Mangawhare tragedy, was held last Sunday evening at the Wesleyan Chapel, Mangawhare. The brethren of the Masonic Lodge St George, of which the deceased was a Past Master, were present. TheEev T. P. Jones conducted the service. The condition of the prisoner Funclre is much, improved. He is to bo brought before the Police Court, Mangawhare, tomorrow, when the magisterial inquiry will begin.
