ODDFELLOWSHIP.

THE LYTTELTON DISTRICT,

The annual meeting of the above district was held at the Oddfellows’ Hall, Lyttelton on Saturday, at 4.30 p.m.; present— Prov. G.M. Pro A. Mills (in the chair), Prov. D.G.M. Bro J. Bruce, Prov C.S. Bro A. M'Williams, Tyler Bro G. Semmens, and delegates from the various Lodges composing the district. The Prov G.M. in bin opening address gave an interesting account of the affairs 6£ the district, and declared the meeting open. A considerable amount of correspondence .was dealt with. Permission was granted to the Perseverance Lodge to meet monthly instead of fortnightly. P.P.G.M. Bro J. Sowdon was elected Trustee in place of Bro Lissiman, deceased. The report of Book Examiner was received and adopted, the action of district meeting with the approval of all. A Committee was appointed to place theWaimate Lodge in a proper position, and to procure registers on a different system for use of Lodges. The balance-sheet, showing the funds of the district in a satisfactory position, was received and adopted. It was resolved to hold the next meeting of the district in Timaru. Accounts to the amount of «£IOO were passed for payment, after which the election of officers was proceeded with, and the following elected: —Prov G.M., Bro J. Bruce; Prov D.G.M., Bro G. Bimond; Prov C.S., Bro A. M‘Williams; Junior Auditor, Bro E. M. Griffiths. P.P.G.M. Bro A. Mills installed the officers elect, who respectively returned thanks. The Prov G.M. then presented Prov C.S. Bro A. M'WiUiams with a handsome marble clock for services rendered the district, the gift being briefly acknowledged. The following degrees were conferred:— P.Y.G'b., Bro H. Field, G. Collins, and G. Semmens; P.N.G’s., Bro F. Childs, G. Collins, and G. Semmens ; Purple Degree, Bros F. Childs, G. Semmens, and J. Eochester. After which the meeting was duly closed by Prov G.M. Bro J. Bruce.
