BLUFF HARBOUR DUES.
[Pee Press Association.] The Bluff Harbour Board, which twelve months ago reduced its port dues allround, including pilotage and towage, has resolved to return to the tariff formerly in force. It was anticipated that the lower rates would be the means of bringingmoro shipping, but that has not been the case, the Board's debit balance on the year's working being over ,£I4OO. The Board meets to confirm the new tariff a fortnight honco, and if this is done it will come into force on Dec. 3. The rates proposed are: —Pilotage, 4d per ton on steamers, without concession except to vessels loading over 1000 carcases of meat; port charges, Gd per ton half-yearly; towage, 9d per ton, vessels in ballast 7d ; berthage dues. Id per ton per day for steamers, id per ton for sailers, both rebates after the first three days and first four weeks respectively. Wharfage dues on imports Coal, Is Od per ton; all other goods. Is 3d. Exports—Wool, Ac., Is per bale; all other goods, 2s.
