QUEEN’S JUBILEE.
TO THE EDITOK. Sir, —In this morning’s issue appears a letter signed J. Ollivier, in which, he fixes Mr Hulbert as the author of letter signed “ The Ancient Mariner.” Now, Sir, I take this early opportunity of assuring Mr Ollivier that Mr Hulbert had nothing whatever to do with the letter either directly or indirectly, I alone being the author. My reason for rushing into print was to give expression to the feeling I had in common with many others, that the resolution of the meeting carried in connection with the speech of Mr Ollivier had a tendency to lead the public to the conclusion that the Home for the aged poor would be a claft one. And I am, on careful perusal of Mr Ollivier’s letter of this morning, more firmly convinced that such was his intention than I was before.—l am, Ac., THE ANCIENT MAEINER.
