QUEEN’S JUBILEE.

The provisional sub-Committee appointed at the meeting of the General Committee last Wednesday, to draw up an order paper for the meeting this evening, have drafted the following resolutions : 1. “ That His Honor Mr Justice Johnston be Chairman of the General Committee.” 2. “That Captain C. Garsia be Hon Secretary.” 3. “That Mr B. J. S. Harman be Hon Treasurer.” 4. “ That the following gentlemen be an Executive Committee with power to add to their number:—The Mayor of Christchurch, Lieutenant-Colonel Lean, Messrs P. Cunningham and W. Harris, Professor Hutton, Messrs J. Cooke, W. Chrystall, P. De C, Malet, W. D. Meares, C. P. Hulbert, A. G. Howland, Henry Thompson, Dr Turnbull, P. Jenkins, Messrs H. Crooks, John Douglas, W. B. Perceval, Dr Frankish, Messrs E. Dobson, C. C. Bowen.” 5. " That a demonstration be held on the day appointed for the holiday by the Government.” 6. “ That the following suggestions, with others that may be promulgated, be forwarded on to the Executive Committee, with a request that it will consider them, and at an early date bring up a recommendation as to what form the memorial should take : (а) A Statue, to be erected in Christchurch. (б) A Home, for the aged poor of both sexes. (c) An Institute, for teaching handicrafts and manufacturing industries by means of trade schools. (d) An Institute, for the exhibition and promotion of Colonial products.”
