SUDDEN DEATH. Oa Saturday afternoon, Mrs Mary Eeechey, residing on the North belt, near the Caledonian road, died somewhat suddenly. She had, it is stated, been giving way to intemperance of late, and about three o’clock on Saturday morning she was found lying out in her garden, having apparently slept there overnight. She was taken into her house, and shortly afterwards was seized with a fit, from the effects of which she did not recover, but died about four o’clock in the afternoon. She was about 50 years of age, and had resided in Christchurch for a long period. Her husband was up-country shearing at the time of her death.
