The ketch Thames is ashore in Jackson’s Bay, Tory Channel. She dragged her anchors on Monday night, and went asnore on a sandy beach. The steamer Napier attempted to tow her off yesterday, but failed. The vessel was to be lightened to-day, and it is expected she will be got off. The Thames was hound from Pelorus Sound to Lyttelton, with timber. It is not expected she has received any damage. Two barques and a three-masted schooner were aeon in the Straits yesterday. The steamer Tainui sailed for Lyttelton and Port Chalmers to-day, Dunedin, May 19. Arrived —Te Anau, from the North.
