CYCLING.
Tn the Bicycle ' Races, the Mile Championship of New Zealand, brought only three men to the post, as E. P. Llewellyn, the local flyer, was unable to start through an accident sustained the previous day. However, with the ten miles champion, J. A. Stewart, and Messrs Fitton and Selby left in, a good race was looked for. Pitton dashed off with the lead, and made the pace for the first quarter of a mile, when Selby worked up to him, with the favourite lying Lack waiting his time. Unfortunately for Selby, when he was just finishing the second round, and about to assume the lead, he collided with Pitton and fell, buckling his machine. The favourite then rapidly closed on the leader, and won as be liked in the slow time of 3min 43sec. MELBOURNE BICYCLE CLUB. Five-Mile Championship. (Argus.)
